WHOLENESS AND WELLNESS workshops

These workshops are the initiative of the Wholeness and Wellness Team at St Marks Woburn Road as a series called "HANDLING LIFE"

"Handling Hurt"

This workshop helps you move forwards towards a forgiveness making decision as a balance of seeking Justice and showing mercy. Participants are helped to examine the impact upon themselves in a multi-levelled way, explore their options, prioritise and plan and prepare a plan of response they can follow through on.

"Handling Change"

This workshop gives participants a basic method for working through issues of CHANGE in ones life. These can include any kind of issue that involves something you have difficulty predicting and preparing for, or about which you feel out of control. It is a basic cognitive (thinking) approach that translates into a practical plan of response.

"Handling Relationships"

Handling Relationships begins with helping participants explore their expectations of their partner in terms of satisfaction of felt needs and some problem solving work around that. The second aspect of Handling Relationships helps explore UPSETS which are key part of faciliating relationships to then proceed with problem solving and setting goals for meeting needs. There are two workshops Relationships 01 and 02. The 01 is about understanding relationships in terms of being a system loaded with expectations, the 02 workshop is about problem-solving upsets or issues that arise in relationships.

NEXT WORKSHOP 'Relationships 02' IS SEPTEMBER 12TH 1pm to 5pm and covers relationship upsets.

"Handling Feelings and Behaviour"

This workshop previously ran with the name "Choose to be Happy". It is a structured workshop teaching cognitive behavioural skills for personal welfare using the original approach to cognitive work called REBT (Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy). Participants are taught how to think rationally through basic issues of human living. Course material is based on Wayne Froggatt's book "Choose to be Happy" HarperCollins.

The 5 Love Languages    YOUTUBE Video Link

The 5 Love Languages is based around the work of Gary Chapman and his writing up of the series "The 5 Love Languages". The basic course can be attended by couples or individuals where you will learn what these 5 love languages are, and also how to sort out problems using REFRAME a thinking and behaving approach to resolving relationship upsets.
