Handling Change

Learning a new way of understanding and managing change or non-change that affects your life by using REFRAME a new development in Cognitive Work.

Structure of the Workshop

This is set over two half day workshops. Morning tea is provided.

Person Life Skills from attending the workshop

1. Learning how to frame an issue for problem resolving.

2. Using the map of the issue to choose a strategy.

3. Using the strategy to build a plan of response.

  


 Handling Hurt

PRESENTER. John Turton

This workshop is about forgiveness decision-making as a balance of seeking justice and/or showing mercy. It uses the Level 3 Reframe structure to help step through seven stages of arriving at your forgiveness decision.

Structure of the Workshop

This workshop is set over 4 half days a week apart to help practice some of the skills. On going support is available to help with long standing hurts that need qualified tutoring and help.

1. Explore the true impact of the hurt.

2. Prioritise issues and setting goals

3. How to examine the emotions involved.

4. How to explore an understanding of self and other

5. How to explore options for your response

6. How to form a plan of response from your forgiveness-decision

7. Action and Monitor your plan.


 

 

Handling Relationships

PRESENTER. John Turton

Using the REFRAME workshop Handling Change as a basis, the workshop explores more deeply the systems that exist in relationships and how to resolve relationship conflicts and personal issues in relationships.

Structure of the Workshop

This workshop is best prepared for by doing the Handling Change workshop, but can still be done by itself. This course runs over 3 half days set a week apart to facilitate the practice of the skills learned and to use them on practical problems.

 Person Life Skills from attending the workshop

1. Learn about how a relationship system functions.

2. Learn how to map your relationship expectations.

3. Learn how to trade expectations for satisfaction.

4. Learn how to problem solve issues in the relationship.


 

Handling Feelings and Behaviour

PRESENTER. John Turton

This workshop is based on Wayne Froggatt’s book “Choose to be Happy” showing how to use Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (a cognitive-behavioural approach) for yourself.

 Structure of the Workshop

The workshop is set over 3 half-days to facilitate the practice of the skills taught. Morning Tea is provided.

 Person Life Skills from attending the workshop

1. How to spot unhelpful thinking linked to feelings and dysfunctional behaviours

2. How to dispute and adjust that thinking

3. How to set action plans to resolve it.

4. How to maintain the gains you achieve
