Hutt City Uniting Congregations

LOWER HUTT New Zealand

LOWER HUTT FOODBANK  Mon-Wed; Friday 9:00am to 11:30am

The work of feeding those in the Lower Hutt city who are disadvantaged in some way and need a helping hand is undertaken by HCUC churches and many other Lower Hutt churches. At the foodbank this work is done by many volunteers from various locations around Lower Hutt, and with a permanent administrator. The Lower Hutt Foodbank is an incorporated society and a registered chariable institution which means that receipts can be given for donations to enable a tax deduction to be made to all donors for cash gifts.

Food and other contributions are given from ALL groups of the community both religious and non-religious; schools, workplaces, service clubs, monastery, churches, and many kind-hearted individuals. In today's present social conditions, more and more food is being paid for using the cash gifts given. The balance is somewhat precarious.

Without the community spirit, this effort would cease as it receives NO assistance in any way from Government funding. The location at present is at the rear and underneath the Horticultural Hall in Laings Road.

What We Do

Hutt City Uniting Congregations are a confederation of churches within Lower Hutt City who minister to a multi-cultural community out of the traditions of the Presbyterian and Methodist churches.

About Us

This move makes far better use of our resources and buildings to adapt to the changes in our economical and political landscape of the New Millenium.
